Chocolate Caramel Poke Cake
If you are totally over pumpkin at this point, have I got a treat for you! How about a homemade chocolate cake filled with homemade caramel and topped with the most delicious made-from-scratch whipped topping?! I can’t think of many people that would say no to that! Admission…. baking is not really my thing. Too much measuring, too much following rules. But, that being said, if you are going to go for it, go for it. Making a cake or cupcakes from scratch may be a little more work, but it’s just so totally worth the effort. And as far as cakes go, this one was really fairly simple and was a huge hit with my family. This actually makes a smaller cake perfect for an after dinner dessert or small party.
I don’t have a huge sweet tooth, but I have to admit looking at these pictures is making me crave that rich chocolate taste again! Use a good quality cocoa powder to get a good quality tasting chocolate taste.
Some tasty whole milk, a little for the cake and a little glass to go with your cake, is a must!
Poke holes and pour caramel into the still warm and just baked caked and then top it all off with this super light and fluffy whipped cream frosting! Like a delicious sweet cloud!
Who’s ready for dessert?!
