Pan Seared Halibut Recipe with Pineapple Salsa

A nice meaty fish with mild pleasing flavor this Pan Seared Halibut Recipe with Pineapple Salsa is simple and quick for a delicious weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 7oz Halibut Filets
  • 2 tablespoons jerk seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 12 oz canned pineapple chunks drained
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1 jalapeno pepper seeded and diced
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried cilantro

Instructions

  • Season both sides of halibut with seasoning
  • Heat olive oil in skillet until very hot over medium high heat
  • Add halibut and sear well on one side for about 5 minutes
  • Flip when fish no longer sticks to pan
  • Sear for about 1 minute on other side and then reduce heat slightly and let cook for 5-8 more minutes until cooked through (fish is cooked when internal temp is 145 degrees)
  • Add drained pineapple, chopped onion and jalapeño and cilantro to a bowl and toss together 
  • Serve halibut topped with pineapple salsa
