Instant Pot Baked Potatoes
There are so many ways to "bake" a potato besides the traditional oven method! Today I'll teach you how to make a baked potato in an Instant Pot!
- 2 large russet potatoes or 4 medium
- 1 cup water
Wash and dry potatoes and pierce a few times on each side with fork
Pour water in bottom of Instant Pot and add steamer basket
Place potatoes on steamer basket and seal pot
Set to high pressure for 12-18 minutes (see notes for exact times based on your potatoes)
Let natural pressure release for 5 minutes and then quick release
Serve with butter and sour cream or as desired
My potatoes were large - 14-16 oz each and I wanted them to be pretty tender so I went with a max time of 18 minutes. For a slightly firmer texture I would have gone with 16 minutes.
Most potatoes area little smaller, more like 12 -14 oz so I would go with 14-16 minutes.
And for a more average size potato like you might get in a 5 pound bag (this are usually more like 8-12 oz each) I would go with 12-14 minutes.
Anything smaller of if you really prefer a firmer texture, I'd go with 10-12 minutes.
