One of the most beloved and versatile meals on the planet, sloppy joe's have gotten up upgrade in the Instant Pot! This quick and easy meal can be served up sandwich style or as a potato topping for a hearty meal.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 green bell pepper finely chopped ribs and seed removed
  • 1/2 cup diced yellow onion
  • 1 teaspoon jarred minced garlic
  • 4 oz tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 teaspoons herb and garlic seasoning


  • Heat Instant Pot on saute
  • Add ground beef and break apart with spatula while cooking until no pink remains
  • Turn off Instant Pot
  • Add remaining ingredients
  • Cover, seal and set to high pressure for 8 minutes
  • Once complete, quick release pressure
  • Serve on buns, baked potatoes or as desired


  • Make in slow cooker:  Brown meat, omit water, cook all ingredients on high 2-3 hours, low 4-6 hours
