Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 2 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  • Add rice and water to the Instant Pot.
  • Cover, seal, and set to high pressure for 6 minutes.
  • Once cooking time has completed, allow a 10-minute natural pressure release.
  • Stir and fluff to serve.

Notes

  • Store leftover rice in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge or 3 months in the freezer. To reheat, microwave the rice covered with a damp paper towel in short bursts, or warm it up on the stovetop with a splash of water over low heat.
  • Rinse rice well to remove excess starch and prevent stickiness. Soaking is optional but can shorten the cooking time.
  • To avoid mushy rice, rinse well, use the correct ratio, and allow natural pressure release.
