Though not commonly served in Japan, Yum Yum Sauce can always be found in Japanese steak houses in the United States and Canada. At your favorite hibachi grill, Yum Yum Sauce may be called “white sauce” or “shrimp sauce,” but the pale pink sauce goes with everything from seafood to grilled meats to veggies!
Yum Yum Sauce uses only 6 ingredients and is sure to impress your family and guests. If you’re serving someone with food allergies or who is health-conscious, there are substitutions that can be made to the original recipe while still obtaining delicious results.
Use Yum Yum Sauce as a salad dressing, veggie dip, or as a dip for cooked or grilled meats (chicken, beef, or seafood).

- mayonnaise
- tomato paste
- rice vinegar
- honey
- garlic powder
- paprika
- water, as needed
**substitute avocado mayo for regular mayo if desired.**

Pro Tips…
Use a “real” mayonnaise like Hellman’s or Duke’s. This will give your Yum Yum Sauce a good consistency and flavor.
If you need a healthier option (or if someone has food allergies) you can use avocado oil mayo instead of regular mayonnaise. Your results will still be delicious!
Yum Yum Sauce is typically a little thinner consistency than mayo. If you’d like it thicker for dipping, just use less water.

- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1-2 tablespoons water as needed

- Whisk all ingredients until smooth
