Air Fryer Halibut
If you’ve ever thought making a delicious halibut recipe would be difficult, then I’ve got great news! Grab your air fryer and just 4 ingredients for better than restaurant quality Air Fryer Halibut!
Ingredients
What does halibut taste like? Halibut is a popular choice for fried fish because it doesn’t have what some consider a “fishy” flavor. It’s a mild, whitefish that some people think tastes similar to tilapia, another fish popular for it’s mildness. Halibut meat also possesses a sweetness to it that other fish do not.
Do I need to add salt to my fish? Yes! Gently salting fish before cooking it will draw out moisture and then return it to give your halibut a richer flavor. If the herb and garlic seasoning that you’re using doesn’t have salt (check the label), I suggest adding 1/8 teaspoon to the seasoning and bread crumb mixture.
Can I make substitutions for food sensitivities? Yes! your halibut can easily be made gluten-free and dairy-free. I have had success using Kikkoman Gluten-Free Panko Style Coating and Miyokos brand dairy-free butter.
Preparation
How do I make sure the topping stays on my halibut? When preparing your halibut for the air fryer, only bread the top side of the fish. Also, be careful not to move the halibut around once in the air fryer to ensure the the topping will stick.
We’re hungry! Can we double this recipe? Yes! You can double or triple the recipe for halibut to make 4 or 6 servings.
