Sometimes the hardest part of a meal is trying to figure out what to serve as a side dish. If you’re bored with the usual, why not surprise your family with tasty red-skinned potato wedges!
It may sound complicated, but it actually only takes 3 ingredients and an air fryer to make the perfect potato wedges. Mix up the seasoning blend for an endless number of flavor options!
This is the perfect recipe for making in an air fryer, and if you are new to using an air fryer, it’s the perfect beginner recipe! The potatoes get nice and crispy on the outside and tender inside with very little work on your part.
Ingredient Notes:
-
Red skinned potatoes are known for packing a nutritional punch especially when leaving the skin on
-
Red potatoes have less starch and a creamier texture, perfect for biting into as a wedge
-
For the seasoning you can play around and test out just about any flavor to match what you are serving these with
Preparation Notes:
-
If you like crispier wedges, cut your potatoes thinner and for more tender potato inside cut them thicker
-
Be sure to stop and shake the potatoes in the basket every few minutes for even cooking
-
To determine if potatoes are done to desired tenderness, use a fork to poke potato
Recipe Notes:
-
I didn’t preheat the air fryer, so if you choose to do so, you may need to reduce cooking time slightly
-
Overall cooking time will depending on thickness of wedges
-
Potatoes will be very hot, allow to cool slightly before serving

Made a written. Way too salty.
For anyone making it the first time and you don’t have all seasoning or seasoned salt, don’t put 1 teaspoon.
I’ve Never put 1 Tablespoon of salt or salt seasoning on potatoes but I tried it because I thought I just didn’t salt my food enough! Way too much. I realize it was an all purpose salt seasoning but if anyone wants just salt and make their own, 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoons it’s all the salt you need.
Way too much oil. You only need 1 Tablespoon. Most of it was wasted because the potatoes didn’t need all that oil coating. It’s air frying, it’s supposed to be healthier and it’s wasteful.
Thank you so much for the feedback! Please note the recipe called for 1 tablespoon of all-purpose seasoning, which is very different from 1 tablespoon of salt. I agree that much salt would be terrible!
